You may also choose to fully discharge your Ni-Cad batteries before
storing them for any reasonable period of time. Use the Discharge for
Storage instructions to properly prepare your Ni-Cad batteries before
you store them.

OMNISOURCE® JR - MODEL BCR261
BATTERY CHARGER, RECONDITIONER,
TESTER, AND POWER SUPPLY
Model BCR261
INTRODUCTION
NoMEM Batteries
Thank you for purchasing LENMAR’s OmniSource JR Model BCR261.
With it you can charge virtually all 6 Volt Nickel Cadmium and
NoMEM® batteries used with VHS-C, 8mm, and Hi-8 Camcorders. The
BCR261 will operate as an AC/DC Battery Charger, Reconditioner,
Tester, and Camcorder Power Supply.
The BCR261 will operate from a standard household AC outlet, or on
the road from a 12 Volt cigarette lighter socket. Also, use the BCR261
to run your camcorder from either an AC or DC power source.
The BCR261 is a complete, convenient system to test, refresh,
condition, and charge your 6 Volt camcorder batteries.
NoMEM batteries cannot be reconditioned and MUST be stored fully
charged. If you recondition a NoMEM battery it will diminish its
capacity and/or not fully charge up again. For this reason, NEVER use
the Discharge / Charge feature when charging NoMEM batteries. For
NoMEM batteries, use the Charge Only feature. To keep your NoMEM
batteries fresh and to prolong their life, they should be fully recharged
as soon after each use as possible. They should also receive a fresh
charge after every 4-6 months of storage or non-use.
Using Your BCR261 in...
TEST MODE (all battery types)
Disconnect any adapters that may be plugged into the base module.
Next, insert your 6 Volt camcorder battery into the base module and
press the CAPACITY button at the top of the base module. If the
battery is properly inserted, a number of yellow indicators will light
showing the charged capacity of the battery.

CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY
To charge batteries, either the AC Adapter or the DC Car Adapter must
be plugged into the jack marked “DC IN” on the Base Module. Once
you have done this, plug the power adapter into an AC receptacle or
cigarette lighter (depending on which adapter you are using).

CHARGING MODE FOR YOUR BATTERY
OWNER'S MANUAL
Ni-Cad (or Nickel Cadmium) Batteries
When you recharge a nickel-cadmium battery before it's fully drained,
the battery "remembers" it is using less than a full charge, resulting in a
loss of capacity. Because of this, the BCR261 has a Discharge /
Charge feature which will automatically discharge your Ni-Cad battery
and then charge it fully. Doing this will assure that you will get the
maximum life out of your Ni-Cad batteries.
CHARGE ONLY MODE (for NoMEM batteries)
Plug the appropriate power adapter into the base module hole marked
"DC IN", and insert the battery to be charged. The RED CHARGE
indicator should light. When the RED light goes out, your battery is fully
charged.
